Technical Assistant in the Fedorenko Lab (EvLab), MGH/MIT

POSITION OPENING: Technical Assistant in the Fedorenko Lab (EvLab), MGH/MIT, to assist with all aspects of research on the cognitive and neural architecture of the language system.  Target start date is June 1 but earlier would be preferable.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Designing, programming, and conducting behavioral (including web-based) and fMRI experiments; analyzing behavioral and fMRI data; creating and updating the lab website; implementing and maintaining analysis software; technical support for lab personnel; and some basic administrative duties.

REQUIREMENTS: Candidates must have ALL of the following: i) strong math, statistics, and computer skills (e.g., MATLAB, Python, shell scripting), ii) substantial programming experience, iii) Mac and Windows troubleshooting skills and good knowledde of the Linux/Unix environment (our data server is linux), iv) a Bachelor's degree in cognitive science, neuroscience, computer science, engineering, psychology, physics, or math, and iv) evidence of serious interest in a career in cognitive neuroscience. In addition, prior research experience in cognitive neuroscience and experience conducting and/or or analyzing fMRI experiments and/or anatomical MRI studies is desired. The position is ideal for individuals considering future graduate study in cognitive science or neuroscience. We seek an organized, self-motivated, independent, and reliable individual who is able to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment, as well as work as part of a team.
