If we held an auditory/speech/language neuroscience conference, would anybody come?
A while back I asked which is the best/preferred conference for speech/language neuroscience. I think I got about 2 responses. Maybe this means there isn't an ideal venue. So David and I have been talking about developing one. Would anybody come? Let us know what you think by commenting on this post and/or responding to the new survey.

No, that the Association for Research in Otolaryngology. ;-) There are plenty of meetings available to present our work in (cognitive) auditory/speech/language neuroscience: SfN, CNS, ASHA, ASA, Academy of Aphasia, etc. The question is, do we want a meeting that is smaller and more focused on the questions and levels we are interested in. Maybe not. That's what I'm trying to gauge.

I would definitely attend a conference focused on speech & language neuroscience regularly. I am very interested to see what the response to your poll is as I feel strongly that it is time we had a smaller meeting to concentrate on issues specific to our unique field.
Hi, I think it is a great idea and it must be done!
We are many researchers working on language and neuroscience, but I sometimes feel rather cut off and it is quite often hard enough to make room among neurologists. I am doing research into Cognitive Discourse Study and Alzheimer's Disease.

I think we have to improve our communication and share our knowledge and such kind of events are a great opportunity. So that, I encourage you to carry on with this idea!
