Interesting that both the UCI Department of Cognitive Science and the UCI Department of Education are now looking for cognitive neuroscientists. Similar candidates might apply to both - especially given Cog Sci dept's interest in quantitative approaches, and the traditionally sophisticated statistics used to deal with nested non-independence problems in education. At least I plan to apply to both positions.

Any thoughts on the possibility of a dual appointment?

Hi Chris,
Yes, we often set up cross-department appointments. Usually with one as a "home" and the other as a secondary appointment, which allows for participation in graduate advisement in the program, etc. By all means, apply to both.
