The Department of Communication Science and Disorders at The University of Texas at Austin has a 9-month, tenure-track assistant professor position available beginning August 2011. Preferred area of expertise is adult communication disorders with special focus on acquired language disorders and adult language literacy. Qualified applicants will have a PhD in Communication Science & Disorders or a related field. A Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology is preferred. The successful candidate will conduct research in adult acquired language disorders, seek funding in support of their research program, teach academic courses related to adult language disorders and language literacy for majors and nonmajors in communication on campus and via distance education, direct student research, engage in professional service and serve on department, college and university committees. The Department of Communication Science and Disorders has 16 full-time faculty, 250 undergraduate students and more than 100 graduate students.
