Three years of Talking Brains

After three years of Talking Brains we've made a couple of small updates to the blog.

One change is the addition of "ANNOUNCEMENTS" and "JOB POSTINGS" subsections which you can find at the top of the page. Click on the link and you will see recent posts in these categories. The number of people send us conference/call for paper announcements and job postings has increased substantially in the last year or so. We are happy to post them for you. With between 6-10k hits a month lately, you will get reasonable visibility.

We've also changed the domain name to www.talkingbrains.org (the old address will also still work).

Thanks for reading what we have to say and thanks especially to those who contribute via comments and guest posts. We certainly welcome any and all participation as the goal of the blog is to promote discussion of issues surrounding the neuroscience of language.

Greg Hickok is Professor of Cognitive Sciences at UC Irvine, Editor-in-Chief of Psychonomic Bulletin & Review, and author of The Myth of Mirror Neurons. David Poeppel, after several years as Professor of Linguistics and Biology at the University of Maryland, College Park, is now Professor of Psychology at NYU. Hickok and Poeppel first crossed paths in 1991 at MIT in the McDonnell-Pew Center for Cognitive Neuroscience where Hickok was a post doc, and Poeppel a grad student. Meeting up again a few years later at a Cognitive Neuroscience Society Meeting in San Francisco, they began a collaboration aimed at developing an integrated model of the functional anatomy of language. Research in both the Hickok and Poeppel labs is supported by NIDCD.
